Judy Lowe (7 Dec 2003): 'Have been trying to find more info on George Lowe in Monongalia VA/Wetzel WV. He married Priscilla Ice about 1833. I can not find the record of this. Their children were William, Margaret, Jemima, David, Joshua, and Perry. I have found census records for them for 1840 thru 1860. I found a George Low in census records from 1800 to 1830. If this is the same George he was married before Priscilla but I can't find any info on this. I need parents for George, if he was married twice and the first wife. He was born around 1774. I do not have a death date or a cemetery record.'
Marla James (19 May 2004): 'Levi Morgan (b. 1828 in Tyler County, WV) is my GGG Grandfather, and I would LOVE to hear the story you have that connects him to George Lowe. The information I have states that George was Levi's stepfather.??'
Judy Lowe (26 Jan 2005): '[George] did serve in the War of 1812.'
Marla James (25 Feb 2005): 'I am a direct descendant of Levi Morgan, who is *believed* to be the stepson of George Lowe.'
Judy Lowe (26 Feb 2005): 'Yes I have heard that George might be related to Levi Morgan. I have a document that William Lowe(George's son) had a half-brother Levi that served in the Civil War but it does not give a last name for Levi. So I did not know if Levi was Priscilla's son from a previous marriage or what.'
Marla James (26 Feb 2005): 'A marriage record at the Harrison County courthouse lists a George Lowe marrying Catherine Heteur on Feb 21, 1812.If this is the same Geo we seek, then I think this may be his second wife.
I also have a deed to 50 acres in Tyler County (1841) that was granted to Geo Lowe by the Virginia Land Office. The land places Geo just where I thought he would be; this particular piece of property would have been in Wetzel County when it was formed.'
