Retired Pennsylvania Man Succumbs at Hospital
George Henkenius, aged 74, a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company and a life-long resident of Fort Wayne, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 2:30 o'clock today after a six weeks illness of complications. He resided with his son, Charles Henkenius, 1224 Sinclair Street. He was employed in the freight department of the railroad for many years and was retired during recent years.
Mr. Henkenius was a member of the Precious Blood Catholic Church, Kreis Stolzenau and the old Aqueduct Club of this city. The body was removed to the Brudl & Son's Mortuary and will be taken to the home of the son Friday morning.
Surviving are six sons, Charles, with whom he resided; Joseph, Albert, John, Clarence and Leo Henkenius, all of St. Louis. Mo.; a brother, Peter Henkenius, of Rome City; a sister, Mrs. Tena Decker, of Fort Wayne, and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the home of the son, and 9 o'clock at the Precious Blood Catholic Church. Burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
