    '[?] George Bechtel, b. c1706. He died on 19 Mar 1759 at Bally, Washington Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He signed a letter in the Pfalz in 1727 as a Mennonite leader. He arrived in Pennsylvania on the ship "Mortonhouse" on 24 Aug 1728 with Phillip Noldt and other Mennonites. ... He was married to Maria. His wife Maria may have been a daughter of Gerhard Clemens. He was a Mennonite minister at Hereford Township, Berks County. According to his bible record his father was living in Germany in 1730 when he sent the bible to his son George [citing "Information from John Bechtel"].'
