    2. Gabriel2 Harris (Walter1), baptized at Honiton, co. Devon, England, on 8 March 1628(/9), died in New London on 16 March 1683/4. … 'Gabriel Harris and wife' had joined the First Church of Christ at New London by 14 May 1671, where eight of their nine children were baptized, their first child, Walter, having died as an infant. Births of all children except James are also recorded in the town records. All but Walter and James were recorded in the land records, evidently at a later date, as children of 'Gabriell Harris & Elizabeth.' The inventory of Gabriel Harris's estate, taken by the townsmen on 17 April 1685, values it at £814 6s. and lists children Thomas, aged 26, Peter, 23, John, 22, Samuel, 20, Mary, 16, and Joseph, 12. Daughter Elizabeth is not listed, probably because she had died before that date."
