Obituary

FRANCES REEDER

SPENCERVILLE — Frances I. Reeder, 101, died at 9:05 a.m. Nov. 9, 2013, at her residence with her children by her side.

She was born Sept. 26, 1912, in Jennings Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of George Washington and Rosa Jane Reynolds Miller, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 29, 1931, she married Lester J. Reeder, who died April 13, 2010, at the age of 103. They lived in their home for 79 years.

Surviving are three children...; nine grandchildren...; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert E. McDermitt; a grandson, Dennis McDermitt; and grandson-in-law, Chuck Golliher; and six siblings, Lloyd Miller, Lois Stose, Walter Miller, Theodore Miller, Ned Miller and Dorothy Carrigan.

She was a 1930 graduate of Spencerville High School and had worked at the Lima Ordinance Depot during World War II and then for 11 years at the Nameplate and Monogram Company in Spencerville. She was a longtime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville, past president of the United Methodist Women and its adult Sunday School class, a Past Worthy Matron of Spencerville Chapter 130, a 60-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Aunt Emma's Club and the Pinochle Club. She loved cooking, sewing, and taking care of relatives.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Revs. John G. Medaugh and Justin M. Fuhrman officiating. Burial will follow at Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the Order of Eastern Star will conduct services at 7 p.m.
