After a brief illness Mrs. Etta Ellen Ball, the widow of the late E. Burnham Ball, passed away on Thursday, February 6, at her home on South State Street.

Mrs. Ball was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ingram, early settlers of Anderson valley, where she and her late husband lived for years before moving to Ukiah valley where Mr. Ball was first engaged in the office of the Mendocino State Hospital and later was foreman of the state farm there. After moving to Ukiah he operated the cigar store established by Monte Cleland on the site where the Morris Drug Store now stands.

Mrs. Ball is survived by three daughters and two sons - Mrs. Edna Holliday, Mrs. Velma Gibson and Mrs. Lola Smith, all of Ukiah, and Ernest Ball of Albany and Irwin (sic) Ball of Ukiah. Brothers and sisters surviving are C. T. Ingram of Ukiah, W. I. Ingram of Cloverdale, Alva Ingram of Navaro, M. E. Ingram of Healdsburg, Mrs. J. B. Smalley and Mrs. J. A. Lile of Cloverdale. There are 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services from the Eversole Mortuary were held Sunday afternoon, February 9, at 2 o'clock, with Elbert Holland officiating.
