Rites Conducted Tuesday for Ernest B. Ball
Graveside services were held Tuesday for Ernest B. Ball, 73, pioneer of this area whose parents Burnham and Etta Ingram Ball were also pioneers here.
Born in Boonville on Dec. 15, 1895, Mr. Ball was a veteran of World War I and World War II. He was highly decorated in World War I having received the Distrinquished Service Cross on two seperate citations. He served as a pharmacist's mate in the Navy during both wars.
Mr. Ball, who was residing in Albany, died September 21 at his home. He had been hospitalized for a year or more. The graveside services were held in Santa Rosa Memorial Park with only the family present. They ask that no flowers be sent.
Surviving are his wife Marguerite Ball of the home address in Albany, a son Ernest Jr., also of Albany, and a daughter Bernice of Walnut Grove.
He was the brother of Edna Holliday, deceased of Ukiah; Velma Gibson, Elk and Lola Wilson, Ukiah, and also one brother Irvin Ball, Talmage.
