!Emilio first attended a seminary to become a priest. He became ill before he completed the seminary process, and decided to become a doctor.

!Emilio Hilarion Alfaro was a pharmacist and medical doctor. He started and owned a family business called "The American Tropical Remedy Company". The company manufactured tonics, medicines, and rubbing alcohol.

!Emilio resided at 1416 Ave Fernandez Juncos, Santurce, Puerto Rico, most of his life and was living there at the time of his death.

The family had a housekeeper named Teresa Valentine living with them.

!BURIAL: Buxeda Cemetery, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Row 123 on the back left side of the cemetery as you enter the emetery from the main road Baldorioty or Isla Verde. Emilio is buried with his wife Maria Bou, and his two sisters, Maria Alfaro Diaz, and Reparada Alfaro Diaz.
