View original image View blank 1930 census form �(PDF 136K) Status to Date: Apparently Elliott went to Texas with the family, and he married there to a lady born in Texas, named Mamie or Mammie, last name Unknown at this time. NOT SO, in the 1930 census that lady says that she was born in Alabama. Elliott died on 11 nov 1922, and is burried in Alabama. But where? It is assumed that some of the family including his wife, Mary Ann (Polly) NIX took this event to return to Alabama. Not known if he died in Texas or in Alabama, only that he is burried in Alabama. Mammie is found with their children living in the Warrior Valley in 1930. The last four of their children were born in Alabama following the death of James Marrion Hopper in 1903. I am not sure who this is, but it seems to be a child of James Marion Hopper and Mary Ann NIX. THE AGE MATCHES that of Nannie S. Hopper. I should be able to find them in the 1920 census in Texas [edit] ==This is the wife of Elliott Hopper, They married in Texas, his father died, 1904, the family was still in Texas for the 1910 census, but apparently returned in mass, soon after that to Warrior, Etowah County, Alabama. Elliott died 1922, this is his widow in 1930 . All four of these cildren list born in Alabama, so they must have returned to Alabama prior to 1903.
