Facts and Events
Elizabeth received a degree in chemistry from Radcliffe College in 1917, and worked for Forbes Lithograph Co. in Boston. When William was drafted into the army in July 1918 they lived at Ft. Knox, KY until the end of the war. Her mother then built them a home on Oakland St. in Lowell, MA. They summered at the M.I.T. facility at E. Machias, ME where Bill taught Civil Engineering. They both became Readers in the Christian Science Church after Bill became fascinated with the religion after his discharge at Ft. Knox. References
