Notes on Elizabeth White
Elizabeth White is named as marrying a Rodgers in her father Isaac White's will in Augusta County (her sister Sarah also apparently married a Rodgers, perhaps a sibling of her husband?):
- Page 231 - - 10th August, 1775. Isaac White's will - - To wife, Jane, mare bought of Lewis Baker; to son, viz: David, Isaac, James and Gordon White, if any of them die in infancy; to daughters, Jane, Isabella, Margaret, if any die infants; son, Gordon, and daughters, Isabella and Margret, by schooled; to daughters already married, viz: Mary Young, Elizabeth and Sarah Rodgers. Executors: James Steele, John Young. Teste: Andrew Russell, David White. Proved, 17th April, 1782, by the witnesses. Executors refused to execute. Jane, the widow, relinquished her right. Administration granted David and Isaac White.
Robert Rogers appears to be a strong possibility for the husband of Elizabeth White (more research necessary), they were neighbors:
- Page 428.--21st December, 1783. Robert Rodgers and Elizabeth to Paulser Teverbaugh, part of 54 acres in Beverley Manor first conveyed to George Rodgers, deceased.
Elizabeth White's father, Isaac White acquired land nearby that of Robert Rogers father, George Rogers, making him a very likely candidate as Elizabeth's husband.
