Elizabeth Parsons was baptised on 20th July 1783 at St Paul's Walden in Hertfordshire, daughter of Martha Parsons formerly Brown and her husband Edward Parsons.

On 5th March 1810, aged 26, she married a carpenter named William Parsons. As they shared a surname, he may have been a distant relative, although the connection has yet to be established. They settled at Rye End, a hamlet which straddles the parishes of Kimpton and Knebworth, as well as being very close to the border with St Paul's Walden. They went on to have five children baptised at Kimpton between 1810 and 1821. Elizabeth's mother died in 1818 and her father died in 1823.

Elizabeth was buried on 23rd March 1837 at Kimpton. She was 53 years old. William outlived her by eighteen years.
