1851 - Recorded as Bessie GRANT, head of household (husband is recorded as a visitor with son John), with 8 children and grandson (John KEARW?, probably KEARNS, as he is later recorded as John Cairns GRANT) at Taibreak, Lairg, Sutherland. Tenant 4 wife, aged 47, born at Roxburghshire.

1880 - Witnesses to Elizabeth's death were William SQUIRES and Richard GRANT. Her death certificate gives her father's name as John LEE [sic] and mother's maiden name unknown. Her age at death was given as 77 years and her birth place as Roxborough, Scotland.
