In Alfred Centre, N. Y., August 2d, 1875, at the home of her son, J. C. Green, Betsey, wife of I. W. Green, deceased, in the 79th year of her age. For several years she had been afflicted with a heart difficulty, which, resulting in dropsy, causing her great suffering. She was one of the constituent members of the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Independence, with which she remained a faithful worker until she removed to Alfred to live with her children. Then she united with the First Church of Alfred, of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was brought to Independence for the funeral, and we buried her beside her husband in our cemetery, where so many of her old friends lie. She has left a large circle of relatives and friends who will miss her, oh, so much. We feel in our heart to say, "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, for they shall rest from their labors, and their works do follow them." J. K.
