He died in an automobile accident on the way to the hospital to visit his wife and newborn daughter Shane Hager. He fell asleep at the wheel, more than likely, and drove down between an overpass and crashed into a concrete wall. I am not sure about the facts of the accident, as it has been a long time since someone talked about this accident.
