Facts and Events
Edward immigrated to New England in 1634 at the age of 20, ahead of his family, possibly with his brother Thomas. He was admitted to the church at Boston on 22 Mar 1634/5, and was dismissed to Concord in 1641. He was ordained at Marshfield in 1642 (before immigrating he had studied at St. Catherine's at Cambridge), and remained there until about 1658, when he returned to Concord and became his father's successor. He preached at Concord until 1694, when the town voted to give him a pension, since he was "under such infirmities of age" that he could no longer "attend[] the work of the ministry."[4] References
