August 14, 1676 he "staid and went not away", in King Phillip's War, and so was entitled to a share in the disposition of certain Indian captives. The services of these Indians were sold for terms of years. In Nobember 29, 1686, he sold Stephen Arnold certain land, whih had been owned by his father, Samuel Bennett, deceased, for 6 pounds, 7 shillings. source: Gen. Dictionary of RI, p 18
