BIOGRAPHY: Ray R. Knight (Knight Family) Page 8 Samuel Bennett, b. 1628, d. Sept. 16, 1684, m. Anne or Anna_________. She married (2) Moses Forsman, of R. I. Samuel bought land in 1655 and in that year he was made a Freeman. In 1678 he was voted 100 acres of public land. In 1678 he was named a member of the General Court for 10 years. Austin's “Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island”, page 18 shows that he was a Cooper and that he lived at Providence and at East Greenwich, R.I. It also lists the offices he held from 1652 to 1678. Holmes “Directory of Ancestral Heads of New England”, gives similar information.
