Jack K. Middaugh's The History of the Middaugh Family of the Netherlands and North American (1480-2000) first lists Dirck Aertsen Middagh, number 24, on page 30 under father's family (Aert Theuniszen Middagh, number 17, 6th generation). Dirck's family details are listed on pages 33-35. Publication notes conflicts in records & the author believed there were two Dirck Middaugh's from entirely different families. "Dirck, s/o Aert, moved to Raritan (Somerville), Somerset County NJ some time prior to 1699 and raised his family there. In 1709 he purchased a farm from his father-in-law. At this death in 1716 the farm became the property of his son, Cornelius. In 1734 Cornelius sold part of the farm to his brother, Joris (George)."
