U.S. Army Ret. : Ready, Dennis - entered service 1778 in Augusta County, Virginia in Virginia regiment; taken POW at Siege of Charleston for 14 months; granted Pension abt. age 80 in Giles County, Virginia in 1818 per County court clerk David French; soldier resided there in 1820, occupation school teacher, but deafness & failing eyesight left him unable to continue; soldier had no family then or any blood relatives on earch he knew of.
