Marriage 16 Apr 1815 Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, Englandto Elizabeth Filby
Burial[1] 1 Feb 1826 Barnet, Hertfordshire, England

David Ward's origins have yet to be established. If the age given when he died is correct then he was born around 1784.

In 1813 he was mentioned in a removal order for an unmarried woman called Elizabeth Filby, who was pregnant with his child. He was described as a labourer late of Chipping Barnet at the time - the 'late' implying that he was no longer there. Elizabeth was removed from Barnet to Wheathampstead, where her parents lived, where she had the baby, having him baptised there in February 1814.

By April 1815 David had reappeared, joining Elizabeth and the baby in Wheathampstead. They married there on 16th April 1815. They went on to have another three children together between 1816 and 1821. By 1819 they appear to have settled back in Barnet.

David died at the start of 1826, being buried at Barnet on 1st February. He was said to be 41 years old. Elizabeth survived him by 23 years, and remarried just under a year after his death.
