Clinton Rowe Jackson was born August 30, 1879 in Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was married April 29, 1903 to Winifred Creekmur in Flora, Ill. They came to Oklahoma March 1906, first living in Chouteau, then to Pryor, where he served as Mayes county agent in 1920-22.

He moved to Adair in 1925 where he lived until his death Dec. 22, 1960. He was in the insurance business for 40 years. He was a member of the Adair Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, Winifred Jackson, two sons, Ralph and Norman of Adair and three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Falls and Mrs. Eileen Clagett of Adair and Mrs. Betty Hod of Bryan, Texas. Also 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon with Rev. Harley Blackford preaching the funeral sermon assisted by Rev. Howard Young and Rev. T. L. Thompson. Music was furnished by a mixed choir. Singers were Mrs. Roy Roberts, Mrs. Gene Fraley, Mrs. Harry Stricklin, Mrs. Harley Blackford, Sammie Stricklin, Gene Fraley, Blue and Coonie Panter and Rev. Emmet Nafe. They were accompanied by Rev. Gerald Hugley on the organ.

Pall bearers were Frank Deffenbaugh, Clarence Kinion, Fred Lee, Derby Lee, Jim Powell and Harry Stricklin. Interment was in the Adair cemetery under the direction of Harris funeral home.

Amoung the out-of-town relatives and friends here for the funeral of Mr. Jackson were Mr. and Mrs. Don Hood of Bryan, Tex., Mr. and Mrs. Owen Brown of Tulsa, Mrs. Bertha Armstrong of Miami, Mr. and Mrs. Moody Wilson, Miami, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Littleford of Albuquerque, N. M., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Falls of Seattle, Wash.
