Obituary

Gone to Her Reward. After a Long Life of Usefulness, Mother Blackman Passes to the Better World.

Mrs. Clarinda Blackman was born in Wilkesbarre, Penn., March 17, 1819, and was married to Rev. Philo Blackman, in 1939. She was the daughter of Rev. Almanza Rogers, and leaves on brother and sister still living, Mrs. John Horner, of this place, and Rev. L. D. Rogers, of Forest, Ohio. She, with her husband and two children, moved to Shelby, O., in 1844, and has been a resident of this place since that time. The deceased was the mother of 12 children, 6 of whom have preceded her to the eternal world. Her husband died July 18, 1878, and she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Turner, of Columbus Grove O. The funeral services were held at the church here, her pastor, Rev. John Wilson officiating.
