Marriage 3 Jun 1856 East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, Scotlandto Janet Hood
Death[2] 1 Feb 1901 Rogerton,
Burial[2][4] East Kilbride Parish Churchyard
Reference Number? SHER-1.2.6

After his marriage to Janet Hood, they lived on the Highflat farm. The 1881 census shows them, with their two sons and two of their daughters living on the farm. He died on 1st February 1901 aged 74 years and is buried in the parish churchyard where there is a tombstone in his memory. If the notation on his gravestone is correct, then Christopher's actual year of birth is 1827, not 1821 as noted in our records. I suspect that the inscription is incorrect since the both 1881 census and 1851 census give his year of birth as being 1821.
