Research notes

• In 2000, August Newquist's daughter, Dorothy LaBrose, stated her paternal grandmother's name was Christina Bengstdotter.
• "Christina" is "Kirstin" in modern Sweden.
  • Note: this is not necessarily so. Christina or Kristina and Kerstin or Kirstin are different names. --cos1776 21:02, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
• Photo Album Note: the November 12, 1907 Bouppteckning is the event and documentation of evaluating and making an inventory of the deceased Christina's goods and chattels, i.e. "deciding what there is". Performed after every death when any belongings are left. Not the same as English "probate" which deals only with wills.

   The name at the time of her birth was "Christina Bengstdotter". Her birth record is found in the Tjureda parish records, the latest available was 1860. It lists her birthplace as "Nykulla Norregard" which is in the northern part of the village. The church records for her family indicate she left in 1844 to get married.

   The first American reference to her as Christine Benson occurs in the bio of John listed in the 1886 book "History of Chicago".
