Excerpt from M.G. Weaver's history [1]

Christian Weber was born in Earl Twp., Lanc. Co., Pa., Dec. 25, 1731 (according to the old order of computing time). On Sept. 30, 1749 he was married to Magdalena Rutt; their married life lasted fifty-five years, and he was a widower sixteen years. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church, and a solemn witness to all of her beliefs; and it is prayerfully hoped that all of his descendants may follow his footsteps. His last sickness was weakness and failings incident to old age; he died Feb. 13, 1820, aged 88 yrs., 5 wk., 2 days.
To this union were born eight sons and five daughters. Of seven sons and five daughters were born 99 children, 188 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The entire number of descendants born to him and to his descendants during his lifetime was 309. His lifelong friend and one of his nearest neighbors, Bishop Henry Martin, preached his funeral sermon form the text, Rev. 14:12, 13. The old familiar hymn, now No. 203 in the old German hymn book, was sung--"Mienaisorgin, Angst, und Plagen, Lauft Mit Der Zeit Zum Ende" (translated from an old German letter or obituary printed soon after his death). After the death of his father, Henry Weber the first, in 1745, and after the arrival of legal age of the youngest daughter, Eva Weber Whisler, in 1765, the family divided the original plantation of 365 acres, which with the usual allowances contained over 400 acres, into two tracts to be finally taken by the two sons. Christian and his wife and family were allotted the farm seat of 200 acres, which is the present farm building site owned by Charles M. Zimmerman. The second farm to be carved from the same tract is now owned by Henry M. Martin.

Analysis

The details of the birth and marriage of Christian Weber are also recorded by a descendant of his, Henry G. Weaver, in the "Annals of Berks Co." [2]. There is some overlap with the details obtained by M.G. Weaver [1], however, upon reading both documents it is clear that M.G. Weaver had a different source for his details. We can only assume that there is a primary source that both of these books drew from.
