Catherine, widow of august Sordelet, remarried the year following August's death. On August 3, 1876, Catherine married Justin Pailloz, a widower. Sometime around 1877, Justin and Catherine left Allen County for Kansas. The reason that Justin moved has not been recorded. It was probable that land was a motivation for the move westward. They took two of Justin's children, Hattie and Julian. His sons, William, charles, and Frank remained in Allen County, as well as daughter, Mary Louisa. Catherine's daughter, Emma M. remained in Indiana and lived with the Cassmir Urbine family. Daughter, Mary also remained in Allen County. Justin died on 22 Oct 1894. In 1900, Catherine was back in Indiana, a widow living with her daughter and son-in-law, Peter Urbine. At the time of the 1900 census, Catherine Pailloz reported that she gave birth to 6 children, three of which are still living. Catherine was baptized at St. Louis Besancon Church on 30 Oct 1895. Catherine Pailloz died 3 March, 1902 in Jefferson Township. She was buried in the church cemetery at Besancon.

4 Feb 1885Catherine Pailloz, former widow of August Sordelet and Justin Pailloz, her husband, both of Allen County, IN, sold remaining estate of August Sordelet to Peter Urbine.
