Her ancestry is: John Cooke 1736 Bedford, NC-1777 Chatham, NC + Christian Faire Reuben Cooke 1661-1751 Isle of Wight, VA + Hannah Atkinson William Cooke 1633 Bristol, England-1698 Isle of Wight, VA + Joan Roper

Her name was Catherine Cooke Roundtree when she married Martin Shofner. According to the Descendants of Francis Cooke of the Mayflower, she is a descendant

the daughter of William Cook Jr 1714–1731 Birth 15 JAN 1714 • Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States of America Death 18 APRIL 1731 • Kingston, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States of America

Doesn't seem likely, though. How would Martin in Bedford TN have met her in Plymouth MA? Her father had to have lived in Duplin county at the tie of her 1780 wedding.

If John Cooke h/o Christian Faire were s/o Reuben, Reuben wdve been 75 when he was born. I have John Cook 1740-died 1810 Orange as son of John Cook of Chatham County 1726-died 1777 Chatham (h/o Christian Faire) s/o Reuben. Neither John mentioned a Catherine in his will, and other daughters were mentioned. I'm looking for her to be a daughter of John Cooke of Duplin and Orange born 1720. That early, Duplin would have been New Hanover. I have looked all through Descendants of Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. Didn't find her.
