On 03 Feb 1865, Josiah F. and Catharine (Ford) Wilson made a transfer of land which Josiah F. Wilson had purchased from E.T. Withers on or about 15 Apr 1856 situated in Gilmer County, Virginia. Wilson had purchased the land using three equal promissory notes, which Withers endorsed to L. R. Wolf. Mr. Wolf called on Wilson to request payment in 1861 and Wilson agreed to deed the land in question to Wolf for a cancellation of the notes in question. However, the taxes for the property were not paid for the years 1860 through 1870 and the County Clerk sold the land to William W. Johnson and Samuel L. Hays on 12 Dec 1872. The land was located along Little Bull Run in southeastern Gilmer County, WV
