    8 May 1732: "By Reason of Many Infirmities as of old age, and many others I am not in a Capacity to administer upon the Estate of my Brother Caleb Townsend of Lancaster Deceased: These are ther[e]fore Humbly to desire you as Judge of Probates to grant Letters of administration to my son Joshua Townsend whom I do Empower to receive the same to act and do in all Cases and affairs as if I were there present..." Signed James Townsend.
