Betty was talented in art and music. In her late teens she worked for the Mercantile Bank in Hammond. In her early twenties she moved to Cleveland to work and play Viola in the Cleveland Symphony. Her art work was confined to portraits. She made some exceptional paintings using cosmetics as a medium. Betty died of congestive Heart and Kidney failure. Services were held December 24, 1980 at 1:00 PM at the C. J. Huber Funeral Home Hammond, IN Rev Lew Wayne Smith officiated. She was cremated at the Oakland Memory Lanes in Dolton, IL.
