Benjamin Albert Lestina

Benjamin Albert Lestina, son of Albert F. and Barbara Suchanek Lestina, was born June 20, 1905, in Clayton County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona. His education was received in the rural schools. On April 29, 1930, he was united in marriage to Agnes Lotza at St. Patrick's in Monona. To this union three sons were born. He farmed until his retirement to Monona in 1971. He died Tuesday, December 6, 1983, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 78 years, 5 months, 16 days.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Surviving is his wife Agnes; his sons Donald and Wayne, both of Monona, and Benjamin of Oelwein, Iowa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Hartong of Waukon, Iowa, and Alberta Lorenz of East Moline, Illinois.

Ben A. Lestina

MONONA, Iowa -- Ben A. Lestina, 78, of Monona died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Services will be at 10:30 am Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call until 9 pm Thursday at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, where the rosary will be said at 8 pm Thursday.

Surviving are his wife, the former Agnes Lotza; three sons, Donald and Wayne, both of Monona, and Benjamin of Oelwein, Iowa; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Rita Hartong of Waukon, Iowa, and Alberta Lorenz of East Moline, Ill.
