Barbara is age 15 on the 1850 census living with her parents in Huntington Township, Gallia Co., Ohio. Since her brother John was born Nov. 1834, and the 1900 census shows she was born in March, it is likely that she was born in 1836 or 1837.

Richland County Marriage Index: B. Ann McMillen to Stephen Dobbs, Sept 6,1857, Vol.A, Pg 85.

1860 US CENSUS, Clayton Township, Crawford Co, Wisc., Household #1162: Barbary Dobbs is age 23, born in Ohio. Husband Stephen Dobbs is age 29, Son John F. (John Franklin) is age 1.

1860 CENSUS Notes: Living in next household #1163 is Phoebe Copus and her husband Israel Johnson. Phoebe is the sister of John Copus that married Barbara's sister, Eva Ann McMlllen. Household #1161 is John's other brother Thomas Copus & family, Household #1160 is Eve and John Copus family, Household #1159 is Barbara's father, Henry McMillen, living alone.

Per Mary McIntosh, a descendant of William Harrison: According to their family tradition, Barbara McMillin, second wife of William Harrison, left her husband in Wisconsin and walked to Hancock Co., Illinois to get away from an abusive husband. She brought two young children with her.

Barbara had siblings in Hancock County. (This would be James and John per 1860 census records. The 1880 census shows only John Franklin Dobbs. Perhaps the other child died?)

Marriage year was shown as 1867 in William Harrison's obituary. However, I have adjusted the year to 1866 because their first child, Garnie, was born Feb 1867 per cemetery records.
