1850 US Census, Huntington Twnship, Gallia Co, Ohio:

"Jackson" is age 20, living with parents and siblings.

Received copy of written marriage record from Gallia County, State of Ohio: ANDREW J. MCMILLIN, to PHILINDA M. ADNEY, married on 20 Oct 1852, Recorded on 25 of October 1852 by Justice of the Peace, Andrew Edmiston.

Also according to the "Wisconsin Adney" records at the LDS FHL, Andrew and Philinda have settled in Keytsville, MO about 1855 with her sister, Sarah Jane, and husband (Greathouse Cottrill). In July 1855, her parents, William and Ruth Adney, and other siblings travel from Ohio to Missouri via steamboats. Philinda's father William convinces Philinda and Sarah Jane and their families to move to Wisconsin with the promise of land and money to get settled. They continue on across Iowa to Wisconsin for (38)days via prarie schooners with the entire Adney family.

1900 US CENSUS, Mendon Township, Clayton Co, IOWA. Andrew J. and Filinda are living with their son (Andrew) Sherman McMillin. Andrew J. is age 69, born Aug 1830, married 48 years. Filinda is age 64, born Feb 1835, (8) children born, (6) children living. (Andrew's year born looks like 1832, but should be 1830).

Certificate of Death dated March 23, 1910, Mendon Township, Clayton County, Iowa: Andrew Jackson McMillin, Born: Aug 18, year blank. Age: 79 yrs, 7 mos., 5 dys. (This places the year born as 1830, not 1831) Married, Farmer, Born in Ohio. Father: Henry McMillen, born Penn. Mother: Rebecca (s/b Elizabeth) Beard, born Penn. Cause of Death: Intra-cranial Hemorrahage. Place of Burial: National Cemetery, Iowa, March 25, 1910. (State of Iowa Cert. #22-01451)

The Adney records incorrectly show his death date as 1907. Iowa Cemetery Records also show A.J. McMillin born 1831, died 1910, buried in National Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa. (see tombstone photo)
