In the 1870 and the 1880 census Augusta's birthplace was listed as Prussia. In the 1900 census she listed her birthplace as Germany. In the 1900 census it said that she migrated from Germany in 1859. (She would have been 24 years old.) At the time of the 1900 census she was still living at 176 Vega Ave. OH ED 188 St 12 (in Cleveland, OH.) Her daughter, Bertha, was still living with her. Bertha at the time of the 1900 census was 37 years old, single, and listed her occupation as a dressmaker. The census said that Augusta had 4 children, but only three of them were living them.

Anne Love offered the following information: August (Auguste) Luck, Guenther's second wife, born in March 1835, died August 18, 1905 of heart disease, was born in Prussia, too, came here in 1859 according to the 1900 census. I don't know how they met but she was a domestic living with the Edwin C. French family. They were married March 31, 1861. He was 28 years older than her. The house they built on Vega Avenue in 1880 is still occupied (in 2002).
