Mrs. George (Anna Moses) Yonda 1901-1980 SERVICES FOR MRS. YONDA

Funeral services for Anna Yonda were held Tuesday, October 28, 1980, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, with Rev. Richard Bohr officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons James and Stephen Petsche, William G., Richard L., Kenneth R., and David J. Crane. Burial was in St. Albert's Catholic Cemetery, rural Lamont, Iowa, with Rev. Carl Ruhland officiating at the committal. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of services.

Anna Mathilda Yonda, daughter of Albert S. and Mary (Lestina) Moses, was born April 19, 1901, at Madison County, Nebraska. She received her education in the Cooper Valley School. She was united in marriage to George F. Yonda on February 7, 1928, in Lamont, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born, Katherine, Margaret and Florence.

She and her husband farmed in the Lamont area until his death in June of 1938. After her return to Monona, she was a homemaker and a great help to many people.

She died Friday, October 24, 1980, at University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, having reached the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 5 days. Preceeding her in death were her husband, George, who died in 1938; her parents; her daughter Katherine, who died at birth; and three brothers, Arthur, George and Simon.

Surviving her are two daughters, Margaret Grotjohn of Dubuque, and Florence A. Crane of Apache Junction, Arizona; six grandsons, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Vlad (Mary) Macha, Mabel, Minnesota; a brother, William Moses, Sr., Ferryville, Wisconsin; other relatives and many friends.
