From unknown newspaper Simon Moses Services Held Funeral services for Simon Moses were held Monday, January 7, 1980, at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, with Rev. Carroll Brown officiating. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Macha, William Moses Jr., Elmer Strangeland, Felix Moritz, Gary Moritz, Gary Berger, Robert Moses and Willard Moses. Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Montour, Roy Ulish, Harold Moon, Giles Blietz, Gilbert Wiethorn Jr., Harold Vorwald, Ray Sweeney and Harold Kerndt. Simon Albert Moses, the son of Albert S. and Mary L. Lestina Moses, was born March 14, 1913, in Giard Township. He attended school in the area. He farmed and did custom work until his health made it impossible for him to continue. He died Thursday, January 3, 1980, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Ia., having reached the age of 66 years, 9 months and 19 days. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Arthur and George. Surviving him are his two sisters, Mrs. Vlad (Mary) Macha of Mabel, Minn., and Mrs. Anna Yonda of Monona; and one brother, William Moses Sr., of Ferryville, Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
