Daniel Cook documents that Anna Margaretha initially married Johann Heinrich Koch who died in 1820 after which time she married Peter Schmidt (in Alsbach, Hessen).

Daniel Cook's notes also indicate: "There were just a few other HEYLs, early on, at St. John's Lutheran in Buffalo. In 1851, there was a baptism of a child born to CHristoph Heyl & Catherine Demari, and also Christopher Heyl and Regina Brietigans, with an Adam and Rosina Heyl as spnosors for both children. In 1849, a Johanna Heyl married a Philip Pitz, and the sponsors were Christoph Heyl and William Heyl. An Adam Heyl married a Louisa Brechtal and the sponsor was a Christoph Heyl; when Christoph Heyl married Regina Reichert in 1852, thesponsor was Anton Heyl. There was no way that we could determine whether these were relatives of Anna-Margaretha Heyl, although it wasn't a very common name."
