Anna Fitch was born in Pawlett, Rutland County, Vermont, on 28 December 1772. She married Cyrus Chipman M.D. probably in Pawlett, Vt., on 3 October 1787. Anna died on 17 January 1837 in Rochester, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 64. She was buried at Mt. Avon Cemetery in Rochester, Oakland County, Michigan. The gravestone bears inscriptions for both Anna and her husband, Cyrus. Her inscription reads:

Anna Chipman 

 His Wife
   DIED

Jan. 17, 1837 Aged 63 Years.
