Rochester is a city in Metro Detroit, in northeast Oakland County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 12,711 at the 2010 census. The cities of Rochester and Rochester Hills are often referred to as "Rochester" by residents and visitors alike, although they are autonomous.
