  • Bruce vs. Harrison. - Andr. Harrison on 2 Jan. 1733 agreed with John Bruse [sic] to have the first prise [price] that Mr. Thomas Hill gives between this and 16 March next to discharge a debt of ₤2.15.8 on an inspector's note. Thoms. Hill writes to the Court that in 1734, on 23 Feb., he gave 20 shillings current money per hundred and 12/6 first cost, and he has done the same ever since. [Orange County Virginia Judgements, 1735, Dorman, pg. 68].
  • Orange County Judgements, May 1736 - Thomas Turf vs. Timothy Twig. - William Smither of Essex County on 1 Sept 1735 demised to said Thomas one plantation, messuage and quarter of 900 acres and 100 acres of pasture in St. Mark's Parish to be held from 1 Sept. 1735 for seven years. Timothy on 2 September with force of arms entered into the premises and did eject Thomas. He asks damage of ₤20 sterling; Z. Lewis, pledge for plaintiff.
"Mr. Harrison. You may perceive from the declaration in ejectment above written that I am sued for lands & tenements in your possession. Therefore unless you... defend your title I shall suffer judgment to pass against me by default and you will be turned out of possession. I am your friend Timothy Twig." 17 Sept. 1735. To Mr. Andrew Harrison, tenant in possession of the premises demanded. Served on the wife of Andrew Harrison, 4 Oct. 1735, by Wm. Henderson, Deputy Sheriff.
19 Nov. 1735. Order that unless Andrew Harrison appear, judgement will be found for the plaintiff. Served on the wife of Andrew Harrison, 5 Nov. 1735, by Wm. Henderson, Deputy Sheriff.
17 March 1735 [1736]. Andrew Harrison pleaded not guilty and it is ordered the surveyor go upon the lands in controversy on 13 May and lay out the lands. Gideon Marr, Deputy Sheriff, 13 May 1736 summoned a jury but the surveyor could not be found. Neither did William Smither provide a justice to swear the jury so they could not lay off the lands.   • John Mercer of Stafford County, Gent. vs. Andrew Harrison - Account of fees due, 1729-1735, against Spotswood, fox, Brock assignee of Skrine, Buckner, Long and Fox, Johnson, Lightfoot, Foster, Berriman, Grand Jury, Henderson, Sanders and others, amounting to 2,300 pounds of tobacco. Credit of 300 pounds, 1730, from Mr. Hickman; balance due, 2,000 pounds of tobacco. Summons to Andrew Harrison, 18 May [1736], returned by Jno. Cook, Deputy Sheriff, copy left. Summons to Andrew Harrison, 20 May [1736]. Court ordered an attachment, 15 June 1736, against the defendant's estate for 2,400 pounds of tobacco.
