    Vol. 23 (new series), p. 39-40 27 Mar 1744: Request to Select Men of Boston to report on representation that Alice Townsend of Boston widow is Non Compos Mentis Person. Return of Sam'l Adams, Jonas Clarke, Tho Hutchinson and John Steel judged that she was. 9 Apr 1744: Bond of Thomas Bentley Boat Builder of Boston as guardian to his Mother in Law Alce Townsend of Boston Widow. Letters recorded Vol. 37, p. 97.
    Vol. 43, p. 56 25 Aug 1749: Letters of administration on "your Mother Alce Townsend late of Boston in the County of Suffolk aforesaid Widow deced" granted to "Joshua Townsend of Bolton in the County of Worcester Yeoman".
    Vol. 44, p. 483-484: 10 Nov 1749: Inventory of real estate owned by Alice Townsend late of Boston widow: lot of 28 acres, lot of 46 acres, eighth part of lot of 38 acres: £1601, by Joseph Wright, John Payson, Parker Morse.

  2. Distribution of Abraham Newell's estate (Suffolk Probate 1989 Vol. 13, p. 452), dated 10 May 1694, gives share "to Alice Newell the youngest Daughter". Born after Ruth in 1668, could be about 1670 or after Robert 1674. Marriage in 1700 plus fact that hers alone was the unrecorded birth suggest she was the last child, i.e., born after Robert so born about 1677.
