Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 4, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :

Ritchey, Alexander - born 6/29/1762 or 1764 in Prince Edward County, Virginia, moved with father Alexander to Botetourt County (area later Russell & Washington Counties), Virginia; entered service first in Scott County, Virginia; entered service 1776 in Montgomery County, Virginia to guard frontier from indians; resided after Revolutionary War to Russell County, Virginia, for abt. 17 years, thence to (place illegible) for 4 years, then to Powell's Valley, near Cumberland Gap, for 4 years, thence to Claiborne County, Tennessee, where he applied for Pension in 1855; pension application rejected, service not covered under current Pension laws. F-8784, R2051.
