Alcey Grigsby was born in 1747, in Stafford, Virginia, British Colonial America, her father, Moses Grigsby, was 35 and her mother, Katherine Branson, was 23. She married Caleb Browning in 1769, in Culpeper, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 25 March 1819, at the age of 72.
