Ogemaw County Herald Oct 6, 1960 To Hold Thursday Rites For Well Known Man Final rites will be conducted at the St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Thursday for Albert Meir, 75, of West Branch who passed away at Tolfree Memorial Hospital early Tuesday. A retired farmer who had lived in this county most of his life, Mr. Meir had been in ill health for some time and had been seriously ill for the past three weeks. He was born in Ogemaw County April 15, 1885 and was united in marriage to his wife Veronica at Sanborn, North Dakota on October 5, 1909. He is survived by his wife; one son Leo of West Branch; three daughters, Mrs. Lavina Neubecker of Rose City, Mrs. Marie Sirmeyer of West Branch and Mrs Eleanor Zeestraten of Taylor City; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Fritz and Mrs. Mary Sheppard of West Branch. Mrs Rachael Schneider of St Clair and Mrs. Irene Houck of Ontario; a brother, Amel of Rose City; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Rev. Fr. A.J. O'Toole will officiate at the services and burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery."
