WELL KNOWN RESIDENTS REACH NOTABLE ANNIVERSARY OCTOBER 18.

Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Meir Sr. celebrated the 50th anniversary of their marriage at their residence Saturday, October 18. They were married in West Branch, October 18, 1880 and lived on their farm in Klacking township until they took up their residence in West Branch, when active life on the farm became strenuous. Mrs. Meir is 73 years old and Mr. Meir is 74. The celebration was made complete by a service of re-affirmation of marriage, performed by Rev. U.A. Miller at St. Joseph church where a high mass was read in the presence of their seven children, 30 grand-children, three great grand children and a large number of near relatives and friends. The home was most attractive in its decorations of gold obtained by golden hued autumn leaves and fall flowers. A beautiful wedding cake centered the dinner table which was further adorned in gold. The guests numbered more than a hundred. The members of the family in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Albin Houck and family, Mildmay, Ont.; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schneider and family, St. Clair; William Meir, and Mrs. Terryah of Ortonville, Mr. and Mrs. A. Brown, of Oxford; William Shey of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Con Meir, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meir and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ameal Meir and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fritz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Griffin and family, all of West Branch; also Mr. and Mrs. Meirs brothers Henry Meir and William Wangler. They received many beautiful gifts also a purse of gold from the children and many messages of congratulations from their host of friends and relatives."

Ogemaw County Herald, West Branch, Ogemaw Co., MI, West Branch, Ogemaw Co., MI "Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fritz attended the golden wedding anniversary of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Con. Mier of West Branch, last Saturday. The family was all there with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schneider. Mr. and Mrs. Mier are pioneers of this county, having raised their family and lived here practically all their married life. Congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Albin Houck and children of Mildmay, Ont., were in attendance at her parents golden wedding anniversary and are visiting relatives."
