Sunday at Village Chapel for Ruth Nix Elkins , 82, Rainbow City , who died Friday , March 9, 2001. The Revs. Mike Murphy , Thomas McDaniel and Bobby Waddell will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home , Alabama City , is in charge . Mrs . Elkins was preceded in death by her husband , Buster Elkins ; parents , Jennings and Molly Nix ; brothers , Roscoe , Ellis and Berlie Nix ; and sister , Ophelia Nix . She was a member of Warrior river Baptist church in Walnut Grove . She is survived by her son , Jackie Wayne ( Juanita ) Elkins , Virginia ; daughter , Brenda McClellan , Rainbow City ; grandson , Jackie Wayne Elkins Jr., Virginia ; granddaughter, Tammy Green , Gadsden ; special granddaughters, Misty Roden and Brandy Ingram ; great-grandson, Joshua Green ; sister , Irene Pate , Pell City ; sisters-in-law, Cena Nix , Walnut Grove , Earline Nix , Reeltown; and several nieces and nephews . Pallbearers will be Travis Wilemon , Doyle Wilemon , Wendell Battles , Ronald Mayes , Randy Battles and Jonathon Battles . Special thanks to Northside Health Care and Dr . Todd Cross .
