(1874); B. Sc. (1876); LL. B. (1878); many years senator of Victoria University, and, since federation, of the University of Toronto; L. H. D. (Hon.) Syracuse University; LL. D. (Hon.) Lafayette College (1912). Called to the bar, 1883; elected Bencher of the Law Society, U. C. (1892); and then continuously until elevation to the Bench; created Q.     Francis Scott Riddell, born 1780. and his wife, Elizabeth Martin, born 1777.

    Arms (subject to differencing) : Argent, a chevron gules between three ears of rye slipped and bladed proper.
