In the Presence of {Grace Strode / John Waller

John Waller witnessed most marriages at Hatfield around this time, suggesting he was connected to the church rather than the couple. The other witness, Grace Strode was related to the vicar of Hatfield (her mother's maiden name was Keet), but she was also a servant - albeit in the royal household at St James's Palace. When Grace married in 1812 one of the witnesses was Lord Salisbury, owner of Hatfield House.
