Family:Joseph Loomis and Mary White (1)

Joseph and Mary sailed on the Susan and Ellen in 1638 with their 8 children^[4]. They moved shortly to Windsor, where they were among the first families. Mary's sister Anna White Porter and her family lived next door for most of their lives.^[5]

   'In the Loomis Genealogy, pages 9-11, evidence is given proving that Joseph Loomis, of Braintree in England, came to Boston in 1638, and settled in Windsor in 1639. It is believed that this Joseph Loomis is the Joseph Loomis whose marriage, June 30th, 1614, to Mary White, is recorded in the Parish Register of Shalford, and this theory is supported by the bequest in 1617 of Robert White to my "daughter Marie, the wife of Joseph Lummis of Branetree." '
